Even Gamers Love Our Girls !

Remember this advertisement image ? Well, apparently, most gamers still do !

DC Games, an on-line gaming community site recently conducted a Web poll from the 29th of August to the 5th of September 2011 among its netizen members. The topic:  “Which celebrity was the most memorable game advertisement model?”

Well, the results, as always, came as no surprise as the members of our favourite K-Pop girl group took the tophonours again  . Our ladies in fact swept the majority of the votes cast (67.9%), with a total of 2,807 netizens polled voting in their favour, out of a grand total of 4,136 votes cast.

The highlighted game in question was  the 2008 Nexon MMORPG, “Mabinogi”. Netizens expressed the opinion that our ladies really suited the cute imagery of the game’s characters.

As expected, dear Tiffany stood out in her role as the Mabinogi character in the music video of the same name, capturing the hearts and minds of many (mine included  ) who viewed the final visual product.

Donating Blood With SNSD!

Yesterday, SNSD attended a “Surprise Blood Drive Event” organized by KBS.

Yoona, Tiffany, Taeyeon, Yuri, Hyoyeon and Sunny were on deck at the KBS Shin-Gwan TV Hall to help raise awareness for blood stock shortages across Korea.

Prior to the event the following was posted on the Girls’ Generation Official Facebook page:

Hello~ This is Girls’ Generation~ Have any of you ever donated blood?
In our country, every 7 seconds, 1 blood bag, 1 minute, 9 blood bags, every hour, 517 blood bags, and in a day, 12,377 bags are used~ And so they say there is a shortage~
So Girls’ Generation will be holding a “Surprise Blood Drive Event” with KBS on September 7th!
Please take part in the “Surprise Blood Drive Event” that Girls’ Generation will also be taking part in and supporting^^
*Location: KBS Shin-Gwan TV Hall
*Date: September 7th, 2pm~6pm
*Preparation Checklist
1. You must, must have your ID or school ID!
2. People who are older than 16 years of age may participate~ If you were born in 1995 but your birthday has passed, you may also take part!^^
3. Men must be over 50kg, and women over 45kg!
4. Before donating blood, more than 4 hours of sleep is required
5. Lastly, if you took any cold medication, asprin, or antibiotic, note that you must wait 3 days before you can donate blood~
To those who take part in the “Surprise Blood Drive Event” with Girls’ Generation
There will be a memory presented to you that you will never forget, so we hope many people come~~~^^

By “taking part in and supporting” the event, the girls’ remained true to their word as they also donated blood on the day. Although this wouldn’t be the first time, as the members, as well as their fans, have donated blood in the past for various charitable causes.

Lucky fans who donated blood during this blood drive however, were able to meet the girls’ and receive autographed goodies:

Original GENIE Choreography Released!

Rino Nakasone, who choreographed SNSD’s “Genie” among other well-known titles, has released the original choreography of the song! As you can see, the final dance routine essentially matches the original, with only a few adjustments to hand motions and other dance steps. Perhaps most notably, the famous chorus dance moves have been left unaltered.


Being, in my opinion, one of the best choreographies in k-pop, it is unsurprising that its choreographer Rino Nakasone has also choreographed a multitude of other recognised dances, including SNSD’s “Oh!”, “Mr Taxi,” “Hoot,” and SHINee’s “Replay,” “Juliette” and “Lucifer.” She has also choreographed for fellow SM Entertainment artists f(x), TVXQ, BoA and Kangta.

Vanness Wu Is A “Taxi” Dancer

Remember Vanness Wu (the guy in the scarf), the Taiwanese singer/entertainer and a very good friend of Tiffany and Sooyoung ? Well, a recent Youtube video released on-line…..

showed him giving the Girls’ “Mr. Taxi” dance steps a go  !

The Youtube video in question is a cut from a recently aired Taiwanese radio variety show. On it, a Taiwanese radio personality named “Ah Da” showed off his “Mr. Taxi” dance moves, to the amusement of Vanness and the main radio-show host.

When the little dance demonstration ended, Vanness was actually asked if any corrections to the dance moves were necessary (the guy actually learnt the various dance steps from watching the “Mr. Taxi” music video  !), to which Vanness very kindly replied that the moves, in his opinion, were perfect.

“Ah Da” then commented that whether the way he danced made it more like a “Middle-age Generation” song rather than a “Girls’ Generation” song, bringing mild amusement to all present  .

Vanness next proceeded to offer his take on the expected hand movements during the song, to which “Ah Da” replied that he actually took a “sneak peek” at the dance manual for the song. He even termed the “hand waving/pressing” movement the “depressing the car horn” step of the dance  !

The main radio-show host then persuaded Vanness to join them to do a short dance demo for viewers watching the programme. In essence, the dance movements are:

1. Turn right

2. Turn left

3. Turn right

4. Press the horn

Finally, towards the end of the video clip, Vanness actually sent Tiffany a short “shout-out” in English, telling her to say “Hi” to “Ah Da” should she meet him in person, since he is a big fan of hers too (in essence, a Fanytastic  ). Isn’t that so nice of him ?
